From Fear to Preparedness: Hands-On Ransomware Response Training

One of the biggest challenges facing IT departments today is fear - fear of what will happen in the event of a breach, ransomware attack or other significant outage.  The best way to combat fear is preparation, not only with the products and strategies you’ve put in place to prevent these events from happening, but planning for how to respond if they do.  With this in mind, ThinkGard is hosting a session that will not only walk you through a tabletop scenario, but better prepare you to bring this skill back to your organization and improve your overall response capabilities. 

In this session we will:

• Have the attendees form teams that will respond to specific phases of a simulated ransomware attack
• The scenarios will be broken down into phases and strategies will be discussed for each phase
• Individual teams will be called on to present their strategy to the larger group and to answer questions from the group on why they chose that strategy
• Prizes will be given to the teams that have the most complete and the most creative responses to each phase of the exercise
• There will be hard copies of the scenarios / strategies from each of the phase of the exercise as well as digital assets that can be used by the attendees later

This collaborative approach to learning is significantly more effective than giving a presentation. This will allow attendees to better understand how to facilitate a tabletop exercise with the stakeholders in their organization.
